Cardinals pull a 180 in playoff win
After shutting down Turner, the Cards defense will face a two-headed monster in Carolina's DeAngelo Williams and Jonathan Stewart. Williams ended the regular season with 20 total touchdowns, 18 of those coming on the ground. ©2009 Sports Network. All

BUCKLE UP FOR BIG APPLE GRAPPLE
regular season, 27-23. That week the Cardinals got a steady diet of running backs D'Angelo Williams and Jonathan Stewart. Expect the same this time around. Williams has been just about unstoppable in the last two games, with more than 100 yards each

NFL PLAYOFFS: Breaking down the divisional games
a puzzlingly punchless Michael Turner ? were 28th in rushing yards per play this year. DeAngelo Williams and Jonathan Stewart keep Jake Delhomme from getting too (ahem) inventive and the wondrous Steve Smith is worth a big play or three in every game.

Hope abounds for these four road teams in Week 10

It takes a lot to win on the road in the NFL, but there are four teams that possess the ingredients necessary to pull off the difficult feat in Week 10.

The Titans, Ravens, Panthers and Giants all appear to be in position to claim road victories. The Titans travel to Chicago to square off against the Bears, the Ravens will do battle vs. the host Texans, the Panthers face the reeling Raiders and the Giants are taking on a resurgent Eagles team. Each matchup provides a unique opportunity for the visiting team to get a win.

Game: Tennessee at Chicago (1 p.m. ET)

Venue: Soldier Field

Last time at site: The Titans have not played in Chicago since they were known as Houston Oilers. In that Oct. 22, 1995 game, Bears QB Erik Kramer threw for 349 yards in a 35-32 victory.

Reason for road optimism: Tennessee is the only undefeated team left in the league for a reason -- rushing and defense. The Titans have the AFC's best ground attack and lead the NFL with 15 rushing touchdowns. Defensively, the Titans have been just as dominant, allowing a league-low 12.9 points per game, while forcing an AFC-high 18 turnovers. The keys to winning under potentially adverse conditions at Soldier Field are running and defense -- the Titans check out well in both categories.

Chicago is tough to beat at home, having won three in a row at Soldier Field. It is in first place in the rugged NFC North and will have a lot to play for as the Vikings and Packers are just a game back. That said, Rex Grossman is expected to fill in for an injured Kyle Orton at quarterback and his propensity for mistakes make the Bears especially vulnerable to an opportunistic Titans defense. If Grossman commits a turnover early, it could get ugly as the home fans booed him in last week's win over Detroit.

Game: Baltimore at Houston (1 p.m. ET)

Venue: Reliant Stadium

Last time at site: In Week 15 of the Texans' inaugural season in 2002, Baltimore went into Houston and left a 23-19 winner.

Reason for road optimism: The Ravens are on a roll and rookie QB Joe Flacco is a big reason for their three-game winning streak. He has tossed four touchdowns, run for another and even caught a 43-yard pass during the run. Two of those wins have come on the road against a dangerous a Dolphins team and the rival Browns. If Flacco can continue his hot play, the Ravens will have an excellent chance to knock off the host Texans.

Houston had its own three-game winning streak snapped Sunday at Minnesota and lost starting QB Matt Schaub in the process. Sage Rosenfels is a capable backup, but is prone to carelessness with the football and the Ravens are masters of capitalizing on mistakes. Furthermore, the Texans are just 1-5 against teams .500 or better and the Ravens will be the best team they have played record-wise since Week 3.

Game: Carolina at Oakland (1 p.m. ET)

Venue: McAfee Coliseum

Last time at site: These teams have not played one another since the Raiders were a Super Bowl contender early in the decade and they blasted the Panthers, 52-9, on Christmas Eve in 2000.

Reason for road optimism: The Panthers have a balanced offense led by QB Jake Delhomme and running backs DeAngelo Williams and Jonathan Stewart. Back in Carolina, veteran WR Muhsin Muhammad has had a rebirth and is leading the team in catches, while Steve Smith has assumed his role as one of the league's most prolific deep threats. Defensively, the Panthers are led by pass rusher Julius Peppers and linebacker Jon Beason. Their depth and talent give them a chance to win anywhere, including at the Black Hole in Oakland.

Two of the most disappointing efforts from a home team this year have been turned in by the Raiders. In a 41-14 Week 1 loss to the Broncos, the defense appeared completely lost and was essentially unable to do anything right. In a 24-0 loss last Sunday to the Falcons, it was the offense that was absolutely out of sync and went into halftime with minus-3 yards. Performances like those make it tantalizing for any road team to have confidence, much less one with the credentials of Carolina.

Game: New York Giants at Philadelphia (8:15 p.m. ET)

Venue: Lincoln Financial Field

Last time at site: Eli Manning passed for 219 yards and a touchdown in the Giants' 16-13 win last December.

Reason for road optimism: The defending Super Bowl champions are playing like they are the best team in the NFC right now. The running game is the best in the league, Eli Manning has been efficient at quarterback, the receiving corps goes five deep and the defense is the conference's best. Add in the fact that the Giants will have faith since they have beaten the Eagles three straight times in the regular season at Philadelphia and you have a team that is primed to win on the road.

The Eagles are riding a three-game winning streak and have been playing well recently. Brian Westbrook is healthy and has sparked the offense, while Juqua Parker and Trent Cole lead a fearsome pass rush. Despite those seemingly positive signs and the fact that they are playing at home, Philadelphia is still vulnerable against a Giants team that has its sights set on taking control of the NFC East for good with a victory.
