Panthers Release Ian Scott; Sign Baile
The Carolina Panthers have released Ian Scott after reaching an injury settlement with the veteran defensive tackle.
The Panthers filled his roster spot Wednesday by signing receiver Sean Bailey.
Scott was signed in the offseason to provide depth after Carolina traded three-time Pro Bowl defensive tackle Kris Jenkins to the New York Jets. But after missing all of last season in Philadelphia with a left knee injury, Scott sprained the medial collateral ligament in the same knee on the fifth day of training camp.
Scott hadn't practiced since.
Bailey is an undrafted rookie from Georgia. He'll help with depth with several receivers sidelined with injuries.
